Inspection and Testing
We carry out full inspection and testing of electrical installations. This is the only way of truly assessing the condition of an electrical installation. The inspection consists of a full visual inspection of the installation looking at installation methods, current carrying capacity of cables, circuit protective devices, methods of protection against contact and the routing of cables with consideration to other services and devices.
We individually test each circuit within the installation for protective earthing conductor continuity, insulation resistance, polarity and earth fault impedance. All RCD’s are tested for function, operating current, operating time and our tests greatly surpasses the required standard stipulated within AS/NZS 3000:2000 (Wiring Rules). All testing is carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 3017 – testing guidelines for electrical installations.
The inspect and test gives a detailed insight into the condition of the installation which then highlights any remedial work which may be required to bring the installation in line with current standards.
We provide a detailed report after inspection, which incudes an executive summary to explain our findings, schedules of test results, observations and recommendations. The inspection and test report can be used to ascertain the safety of an electrical installation before rent, lease or sale of a property, it can also be used to show the condition of the electrical installation for insurance purposes.
Routine checks
Once a full inspection and test has been carried out and any remedial work has been completed, routine checks can be used to ensure the continued compliance of the installation, Routine checks can also be used to monitor the condition of the installation and allow timely rectification of wear and tear or misuse/damage of the installation and can become an integral part of your maintenance plan.
